Percy Blue is a 9-year-old Australian Cattle Dog and the bestest boy. True to the breed, he is fetch obsessed and athletic. He loves any sort of adventure: beach, hikes, car rides, leash walks. He has an “off switch” when it’s time to chill out at home or in the truck. He’s crate trained, up-to-date on core vaccines and receives monthly flea preventative. He loves people and is highly treat motivated (watch your fingers).
Since 2017 Percy has been my assistant in our herding dog rescue efforts with Pacific Northwest Cattle Dog Rescue. He’s being the welcome wagon for 200+ foster dogs and puppies. He’s very good at going slow with scared or shy dogs and letting them come out of their shell over the course of days, weeks or months. He’s less tolerant of fast, on-leash intros with new dogs. He’s mostly concerned about whether the new dog will try to pounce or play too aggressively for his liking. He does great with slow intros by means of a parallel leash walk, a baby gate or an exercise pen.
Percy is great around livestock and farm birds — he mostly ignores them. He fancies squirrels, rabbits and cats when they’re in motion but he doesn’t have prey instinct if he catches up to them. He takes a while to stop being annoying with new cats so he usually stays separated by baby gates.
Percy loves exploring the coastal PNW with his sisters Koda & Tasmin, and he can’t wait for your pup to join the KHC pack!
