Hello! My name is Marie. I have worked in the pet care field for 20+ years in various capacities. I started as a vet tech, then dog walker, pet sitter, farm worker and finally animal rescuer. I’ve been involved in rescue transport for the past few years and looking to apply that experience to offer safe transport to others. I’m based in the Pacific Northwest and offer transport along the west coast and across the US.
I am insured through Pet Care Insurance (PCI). I am a registered Class T – Carrier through the USDA. I’m PetTech CPR & First Aid certified. I keep a first aid kit on board, geared towards pet first aid. I have a 2016 Sprinter 170 outfitted with Ruff Land kennels. I transport a maximum of 5 client pets at one time. We stop approximately every 4 hours for potty breaks. During multi-day transports, I sleep in the van with the animals.
If you wish to send animals traveling in a cage or enclosure, please contact me with the dimensions and photos. If you wish to send additional gear on transport, again please send dimensions and photos. I have limited floor and storage space in the van. Unplanned cargo won’t be permitted at the time of pick up.
The USDA requires that pets be able to turn around and lay down in their kennel during transport. It is also required that the pet’s head does not touch the ceiling of the crate. If your pet does not meet the kennel criteria at the time of pick up, they will not be able to go on transport and the booking deposit will not be refunded.
Dogs need to have a snug-fitting collar or harness with up-to-date identification tags for transport. If your dog uses additional equipment such as a Halti or Gentle Leader for leash walks, please provide this equipment to driver.
Please send your pet with enough food and medication for the duration of transport. I have a small refrigerator in the van if you need to send perishable food or meds. If your pet requires bedding or litter changes, please provide enough material for the duration of transport.
For small animals: If your pet has a Lixit or similar hanging water bottle in their cage, it will be removed while we’re in motion. This is to prevent the bottle from leaking and get their bedding wet. Your pet will only have access to their hanging water bottle while the van is stopped to avoid soaking their enclosure. Please provide an alternative no-leak watering system for your pet if you want them to have access to water while en route.
Due to the size of the new transport van and the desire to keep travel time down, I’m no longer offering door-to-door pick-up or drop-off on group transports. We will meet at a gas station or other public place near a major highway. If you require a solo VIP transport or door-to-door service, please message me for a custom quote.
